This Used to Be My Playground (Este Solía Ser Mi Patio) es una canción escrita por Madonna y Shep Pettibone, y cantada por Madonna. La canción se compuso para la banda sonora de la película A League of Their Own protagonizada por Madonna junto a Tom Hanks, Geena Davis y Rosie O'Donnell. Aunque fue todo un éxito en los charts mundiales la canción no se incluyó en la banda sonora oficial de la película, a pesar de lo cual se publicó como sencillo el 16 de junio de 1992. Más tarde la canción fue incluida en el álbum Barcelona Gold y en el álbum compilado de baladas de Madonna Something to Remember. mas bonitas de madonna esa melancolia
A parte de su papel Madonna también colabora en la banda sonora de la película escribiendo junto a Shep Pettibone la balada "This Used to Be My Playground". Extrañamente, la canción no fue incluida en el álbum oficial de la banda sonora de la película, a pesar de lo cual "This Used to Be My Playground" se publicó como sencillo en junio y julio de 1992, alcanzando el #1 en los chThis Used to Be My Playground" se compuso durante los sets de grabación del que sería el próximo álbum de estudio de Madonna: Erotica, a pesar de lo cual, la canción logra alejarse bastante del marcado estilo de los últimos trabajos de Madonna, donde centraba sus temas principales en la provocación y la sexualidad. La canción es una dramática balada con un llamativo arreglo instrumental de apertura en la que Madonna recuerda con nostalgia un amor perdido.
Más tarde y luego de los juegos olímpicos del año 1992 en la ciudad de Barcelona, España se publicó un álbum musical inspirado en estos famosos juegos, donde se incluyó "This Used to Be My Playground", posiblemente como una donación de la propia cantante. En 1995, Madonna incluyó esta canción en su álbum compilado de baladas Something to Remember.
Video musical [editar]
El video musical de "This Used to Be My PLayground", dirigido por Alek Keshishian, fue filmado en junio de 1992 en los Raleigh Studios en Hollywood, California y en Malibu, el video fue estrenado por MTV el 29 de junio de 1992. En el video aparece un álbum fotográfico con varias fotografías de Madonna cantando la canción, intercaladas con imágenes de la película A League of Their Own. El video arranca pasando el libro desde la portada hasta el final durante el estribillo final de la canción, luego vuelve a pasar inversamente hasta cerrarse nuevamente. Este video musical es similar al estilo del video del sencillo "To Be Room" de Boy George.
Este video fue comercializado en el año 2004 incluido como un bonus en la edición especial en formato DVD de la película A League of Their Own.
